World Liver Day

Every year April 19th is observed as World liver day. The day aims to spread awareness about liver-related disease. Everything one eats or drink, including medicine, passes through the liver. Liver diseases don't usually cause any obvious signs or symptoms until it is fairly advanced and the liver is damaged. At this stage, possible symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss and jaundice. There are many steps one can employ to have a well-functioning and healthy liver.

One can support healthy eating, exercise and stress relieving techniques such as yoga and pranayam. Eating grapefruit, apples, walnuts and garlic helps cleanse the liver. Including turmeric and other leafy vegetables also goes a long way to help keep the liver healthy. The complex functions of the liver include:

•          Cholesterol level controls

•          Assists in blood clotting

•          Helps to boost immunity

•          Regulates blood sugar

Stay away from alcohol, smoking and any forms of drug and always consult a professionally trained medical practitioner before you start any sort of medication.

The proficient check and clearing of the above-mentioned facts add to the increasing influx of tourists that aim for medical tourism in Kerala and the very first step that one needs to implement is the use of medical disposables such as probe covers into the general system of health care.
