Why We Shouldn’t Share Earphones

One might think it is very natural thing to split headphones in transit with your best friend or borrow them off a colleague at work but the truth remains far from it. Firstly using ear phones is bad for us. The buds present in them cover up the exit point for the wax trapping moisture and warmth and basically creating optimum conditions for bacteria to thrive. Studies reveal that those who use earphones with ear buds have a bacteria growth increase of 11 folds. The one thing that you need to know is that each bacterium is unique to them and when you share your earphones these bacteria gets transferred to your ear as well. These could give rise to a whole lot of ailments such as:

•          Middle ear infections,

•          Fungus

•          Swimmer’s Ear

•          Blackheads

•          Pimples

And if you are unlucky to have a cut or open wound near to the wax, it could also cause a serious skin infection.
