Why India ranks Among the Top 3 Medical destinations in Asia?

India stands tall among the top three medical tourism destinations in Asia which is primarily due to the low treatment cost, quality healthcare infrastructure and top qualified doctors. As far as Asia is concerned, India, Thailand and Singapore are the three nations that receive the maximum number of medical tourists. These three countries have together formed about 60 percent of the total Asian revenue in medical tourism in Asia. This study was done in India and other Asian countries and had interviewed public sector stakeholders and the heads of domestic companies or CEOs of well-known hospitals. The research also pointed out that Asian countries have introduced several marketing strategies to garner medical tourists.

India is popular for its cost-effective medical treatments which includes medical treatments along with high standards in cardiology, orthopaedics, nephrology, oncology and neuro surgery.The top destinations of medical tourism in India are Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, New Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

The above-mentioned facts add to the increasing influx of tourists who aim for medical tourism in Kerala, where one of the first steps to be implemented is the use of medical disposables like probe covers into the health care system.
