Vitamin D Benefits

Throughout human history, we as a species have always relied upon the sun to obtain our needed dose of Vitamin D. This is so because obtaining it from any sort of food (processed or not) was never feasible.  No other edible form of fruits or vegetables had mentionable levels of Vitamin D. The amount of Vitamin D obtainable varies based on the proximity to the equator. The problem lies in the fact that many have big-time trouble accepting the fact that exposure to the sun is important for the body. But one needs to be aware that vitamin D has a multitude of undeniable benefits such as:

•          Studies show that 75% of cancers can be prevented with adequate consumption of Vitamin D

•          Vitamin D is also responsible for the calcium and phosphate levels in the blood and bone

•          Vitamins D is also extremely crucial in the creation and function of t cells in the body

•          Significant lack of vitamin D causes inflammation and soreness in the body.

Those who do know this fact, however, substitute being in the sun with actual Vitamin D supplements but like all medicines, even this has its own side effects but if exposure to the sun is not a possibility then supplementing it orally is indeed a necessity.

All the above-mentioned facts add to the increasing influx of tourists that aim for medical tourism in Kerala and the very first step that one needs to implement is the use of medical disposables such as probe covers
