Side Effects of Ultra Violet Rays

Ultra violet (UV) radiation is an electromagnetic radiation with wavelength from 100 nm to 700nm. UV accounts for nearly is 10% of total light output of the sun. On Earth UV is emitted in small amounts from mercury-vapor lamps, tannin lamps, and black lights. Chronic effects of UV exposure can be much more serious and even life threatening. In fact it has both positive and negative effects.

Positive Effects of UV:

Negative Effects of UV:

•          Causes skin cancer

•          Causes sun burn

•          Damage eyes
