The first thing any of us does the moment we start feeling a little bit feverish is to take in a paracetamol tablet. I have chosen my words carefully as it always some supplements of the same. But how many of us are actually aware of what this does to our body. Today let us discuss on the reaction to paracetamol to our body.
First and foremost, fever is caused in our body as a response mechanism to increase the temperature so as to eliminate the microbs that infected us. More often than not these foreign invaders have developed their life cycle around the human body temperature so when the temperature is increased there is a high chance of these microorganisms dying out. Contrary to people’s belief paracetamol does not eliminate your fever, the most unique thing it does is that it thins out the blood. Scientists are still not sure behind the science of this process, the most accepted hypothesis is that it releases a hormone which thins out the blood and as a result the pores open up and heat transfer happens at a much faster rate. The tablet actually increases metabolism rate and on an average during the period of the tablet, the body is more energetic than it should. Thinning out blood also has its perks for assisting cholesterol patients who might have blocks in their system.
The paracetamol is not without its disadvantages as well. Heavy doses and in inappropriate amounts could lead to death. The tablet directly affects the liver and is 5 times more dangerous than any amounts of alcohol. Under the influence of paracetamol, the clotting of blood is also reduced as blood thins out.
