Less Known Adverse Effect of Red Meat

Red Meat or meat in general is one of the most popular food for its delicious taste. It also provides the body a variety of nutrients such as:

•          Protein

•          Selenium

•          Iron

•          Vitamin B

•          Vitamin D

•          Zinc

There are however certain side effects to consuming meat daily:

1. Bad Breath: Consuming too much protein by cutting down on carbohydrates gets your body to enter into a state called ketosis in which the body starts burning fat for fuel which releases a chemical known as ketones which results in bad breath.

2. Bad Mood: Striping carbs from your diet would result in you feeling grouchy, irritable and cranky. Consuming this protein diet will only add to this.

3. Damages your Kidney: When you consume a whole lot of protein, it releases nitrogen by products that is hard to filter out by your kidneys forcing your kidneys to work harder.

 

4. Gain Weight: In the short term a protein diet may help you to lose weight but as you consume more egg whites and red meat you are only going to gain in weight.
