Is wearing plain glass bad for the eyes?

A common question that I get asked is whether wearing non –prescription plain glass is bad for one’s eyes and contrary to popular belief the answer is ‘NO’. Wearing spectacles has literally the same effect as looking through a window. With attractive frames being available in the market, many would fancy sporting the spectacle look but it also needs to be said that cheaper spectacles can cause unpleasant reflections which can be extremely uncomfortable to wearer. In my personal opinion one should spend a bit more and invest in a good pair of lens such as a blue tinted coating lens that reduces the amount of glare from electronic devices and in this digital age we cannot even hope to calculate that one spends in front of a screen, whether it is at your working environment, your personal pc or laptop at home or the smart phone that continouslt stare into. Youngsters spend an awful lot of time in small mobile screens at especially during night time which can cause tremendous eye fatigue.
