Computer vision syndrome

Most of you would be reading this through a computer screen as most of  us would have jobs that would require us to stare at computer screens for hours at a time. There are a lot of problems that arise due to this continuous strain. These are generally classified as CVS or computer vision syndrome. This isnt just one specific problem but includes a whole range of eye strain and pain. People often associate this with the working class but children are also starting to get affected by this. CVS follows the same logic that one might incur from any other injury due to repetitive motion at work. Our eyes follow the same path over and over not to mention they focus and refocus or nearly the same portion. Your eyes constantly react to the changing images, text and colour patterns. Its symptoms include Blurred vision

Double vision

Red eyes

Irritation of the eyes

Headaches

Its treatment include

Removing the glare: Most cases a simple glare for excessive periods can cause cVS.

Monitor height: Studies reveal that if your monitor rests event 20 inches below eye level you need to provide an additional effort which will course a strain on your eyes and neck.

Take a break: Look away from the screen every 20 minutes or so. Also don't forget to blink.
