Having wooden furniture and floors is always an aesthetic appeal to your home. The problem arises when you need to clean it and its proper maintenance. Using high end chemicals is always a bad solution. Today let us try simple home remedies to clean and polish your wooden artifacts.
Good Cleaning: Combine 3 tablespoons of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of filtered water and use a damp cloth to gently wipe.
For Polishing: Add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, 1/8 cup of lemon juice (or just a halved lemon) and ¼ cup of olive oil and whisk these ingredients into a bowl. Apply the mixture on to the furniture and allow it to rest for 24 hours.
If you are the impatient one and do not have time for each step individually, try this method. ¼ cup olive oil, ½ cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerin, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and roughly 30 drops of lavender essential oil. Combine all the ingredients in a clean spray bottle. Apply the solution to the areas you want to be cleaned or polished and rub with a soft cloth.
Sometimes merely polishing will not suffice. For complete restoration you will require 1/8 cup distilled white vinegar, ¼ cup fresh lemon juice, and 1/8 cup flax oil. Combine these ingredients before applying to your furniture with a cloth.
