Benefits of a Coloring Book

Growing up we all loved to color and draw. In fact, it is a truth that most children naturally love engaging in this activity but what usually happens is that around ‘real school’ age we stop encouraging our creative side or forced stopped and we focus more on the academic and the extremely structured logical activities.

But recent studies prove that an activity as simple as coloring a book could be extremely beneficial for our mental stage. Coloring has been shown to have stress reducing benefits and even stimulates the part of the brain that is responsible for creativity and logic. Evidence also points to the fact that a short coloring session can improve one’s focus and creativity. While I say this coloring is not the only activity these benefits are restricted to, music, crafts, dance and event home repairs and knitting has been shown to decrease depression and anxiety. Group coloring therapy sessions are now experimentally tried for those with PTSD and other stress related disorders.

The proficient understanding of the above-mentioned facts add to the increasing influx of tourists that aim for medical tourism in Kerala and one of the very first steps that need to be implemented is the use of medical disposables such as probe covers into the general system of health care.
